About Us
How it began...
When two creative, silly people come together to build a life and create a family, it leads to something truly beautiful. This spirit of connection inspired the formation of Kissing In A Tree Productions, a venture by indie filmmakers drawing on several years of experience in writing, producing, acting, and directing family films.
Jason Hayes
Jason holds a Bachelor's in Theatre and a Master's in Special Education. He has showcased his talents on professional stages from New York to Los Angeles, as well as on television and in film, including family films that spotlight the creativity of indie filmmakers. In 2018, he was honored as the Los Angeles Unified School District Teacher of the Year and currently serves as the Magnet Coordinator for Sotomayor Arts & Sciences Magnet, where he also collaborates with Kissing In A Tree Productions.
Michelle Merring
Michelle is an actress of stage and screen, known for her work from off-Broadway in Spiritwoman at the Harold Clurman Theatre to her role as Viola on General Hospital. Beyond her performances, Michelle is also a teaching artist for children and adults, helping to nurture the next generation of talent, including indie filmmakers. A graduate of NYU Tisch, she further honed her skills at the Stella Adler Academy and has been involved with projects like Kissing In A Tree Productions, which focuses on family films.
